Governor Newsom: Shut down the Aliso Canyon SoCalGas facility within a year!
It's been five years since the horrible blowout at the Aliso Canyon SoCalGas storage facility was finally contained — after four months of it spewing toxic gas into nearby neighborhoods.
Though Governor Newsom has repeatedly expressed support for shuttering this dangerous facility, we've learned the use of Aliso Canyon has actually INCREASED by 3000% since Newsom was elected, all due to weakened regulations. Read more about this destructive increase in the L.A. Times.
